It is illegal for any person to treat an animal unless they are a veterinary surgeon or a “paraprofessional” covered by the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 1962.

Helen Tompkins is a paraprofessional within the meaning of the the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962 (as amended) and is allowed to practice with the prior consent of the animal’s veterinary surgeon. Helen always seeks veterinary approval before treatment.
