  • Helen will take a full history about your horse to enable her to understand its lifestyle, management, work load and your future aims.

She will assess the horse statically and dynamically, then begin to work over the horse with manual therapy techniques.

This involves physiotherapeutic techniques (massage,  mobilisations, manipulation, electrotherapy, stress point therapy, exercise therapy and stretching regimes) and McTimoney Animal Manipulation techniques to address musculoskeletal problems.

Helen has a mainly equine practice.

  • Use the contact page for an initial enquiry or see details at the bottom of the page. If you decide to book, Helen uses the EQUIGATE app to manage messaging, reporting and communication with clients.

You can download the Equigate App for free from Google or Apple.  To connect with Helen you will need the code X58188.

You will need to complete your details in the app, and on the Client Onboarding form which you will receive. You will need to give your vet’s details.

  • You will need to give full details of your vet, horse and yard/home address. We will contact your vet in advance of the visit. It is a legal requirement that the horse is registered with a vet.

On the day of treatment the horse will need to be in, clean and dry. Access to an undercover area is ideal, as is a flat area to trot up (road is fine)

  • Prices for physiotherapy treatments are based on a distance/band basis. Prices start at £65. We do not offer discounts for multiple client bookings at one yard. Every client will receive the amount of time and attention they need.

Winback TECAR is not included in a standard treatment but if wished, clients may request an extended appointment to include TECAR at extra cost.

Winback TECAR only treatments £70 for up to 2 areas

Winback TECAR block bookings (4 x treatments or more) will attract a discount but total charge depends on location and number of visits required.

    Laser/ultrasound electrotherapy treatments from £45

Payment may be made in cash or by bank transfer and is due on the day of treatment or receipt of invoice.

Statutory interest may be charged on accounts outstanding over 7 days.

  • Cancellations within 2 working days will attract a charge of 50% of the expected cost (subject to discretion) where the appointment cannot be filled elsewhere.

If your horse is lame or subject to current veterinary care you must disclose this. It is alegal requirement that the vet is aware of any treatment and Helen cannot treate the horse where there is an undiagnosed lameness. If the appointment has started and it becomes clear on site that Helen cannot legally continue then the full fee is due.

  • Helen has a small number of canine clients generally referred by vets or owned by existing equine clients. Generally she does not take on new canine clients but please feel free to enquire with the contact form.
